Description

7 Layer Bars are a rich, chewy, and crunchy dessert made with a graham cracker crust, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate and butterscotch chips, walnuts, and shredded coconut. Perfect for gatherings or a sweet homemade treat.


Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup butterscotch chips

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 ⅓ cups shredded sweetened coconut


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Pour melted butter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs evenly on top and press firmly to form a crust.
  3. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, walnuts, and shredded coconut evenly over the top.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the coconut is golden brown and the bars are set.
  6. Allow bars to cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use dairy-free butter, condensed coconut milk, and dairy-free chocolate chips.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months, wrapped tightly and stored in an airtight container.
  • Cool completely before slicing for neat bars.
  • Can substitute nuts or chips for different flavors.
