Description
7 Layer Bars are a rich, chewy, and crunchy dessert made with a graham cracker crust, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate and butterscotch chips, walnuts, and shredded coconut. Perfect for gatherings or a sweet homemade treat.
Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 ⅓ cups shredded sweetened coconut
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Pour melted butter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs evenly on top and press firmly to form a crust.
- Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, walnuts, and shredded coconut evenly over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the coconut is golden brown and the bars are set.
- Allow bars to cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For a vegan option, use dairy-free butter, condensed coconut milk, and dairy-free chocolate chips.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Freeze for up to 3 months, wrapped tightly and stored in an airtight container.
- Cool completely before slicing for neat bars.
- Can substitute nuts or chips for different flavors.
