Description

This Apple Cider Syrup is a cozy, fall-inspired syrup made with apple cider, sugar, butter, and warm spices. Perfect for drizzling over breakfast dishes or desserts, it’s an easy, versatile, and make-ahead-friendly treat.

Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

4 cups apple cider

1 tablespoon lemon juice

6 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and pumpkin pie spice.
  2. Pour in the apple cider and lemon juice, stirring until the dry ingredients are fully dissolved.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat slightly and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. After 30 minutes, stir in the butter until fully melted. Remove from heat.
  5. Pour the syrup into clean canning jars and let it cool before sealing.
  6. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  7. To serve, microwave the syrup for 1–2 minutes or warm it gently on the stove before pouring over your desired foods.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.

Microwave or gently heat before serving.

Try with pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, or ice cream.

For a vegan version, use plant-based butter.

Thicken by simmering longer or adding more cornstarch.
