Description

Bang Bang Salmon is a deliciously crispy, sweet, spicy, and creamy dish perfect for dinner. The salmon fillets are coated generously with a flavorful bang bang sauce made from mayonnaise, sriracha, Thai sweet chili sauce, pure maple syrup, and lemon juice, then baked or air fried to perfection. Garnished with fresh spring onions and extra sauce, this dish offers a delightful balance of heat, sweetness, and creaminess complemented by your favorite vegetable side.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 1.1 pound salmon, 4 fillets
  • 2 stalks spring onions, chopped

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 2 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • ½ tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl or jar, combine mayonnaise, sriracha, Thai sweet chili sauce, pure maple syrup, and lemon juice. Whisk thoroughly until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
  2. Prepare the Salmon: Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Using a pastry brush, coat each salmon fillet generously with the bang bang sauce, ensuring the sides are well covered for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat the Cooking Appliance: Preheat your oven to 400°F (if baking) or preheat your air fryer to 400°F, brushing the basket lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the Salmon: For oven baking, place the salmon fillets skin side down on a greased baking tray and bake for 15 minutes. For air frying, arrange the salmon fillets in a single layer skin side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 12 to 15 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, garnish the salmon with chopped spring onions and drizzle extra bang bang sauce on top. Serve the salmon warm with your choice of vegetable side dishes.

Notes

  • Leftover bang bang sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
  • To ensure the salmon is fully cooked, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part; it should read 145°F.
  • You can adjust the spiciness of the sauce by varying the amount of sriracha according to your preference.
