Description
Creamy Cowboy Butter Chicken Pasta is a rich, indulgent, and flavorful dish made with tender chicken, al dente pasta, and a buttery cream sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special gatherings, it combines comfort food with a sophisticated twist.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup heavy cream
4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
2 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 6-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and let rest.
- In the same skillet, add remaining 1 tbsp butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and stir until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Slice chicken into bite-sized pieces and return to the skillet along with the pasta. Toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra Italian seasoning or Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
- Swap chicken for grilled vegetables to make it vegetarian-friendly.
- Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Mix in Parmesan or mozzarella for extra cheesy richness.
- Use any pasta shape such as spaghetti or rigatoni.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat with a splash of cream or milk.
