Description

This creamy jalapeno cottage cheese dip is a spicy, tangy, and protein-packed snack perfect for serving with veggies, crackers, or as a spread in wraps and sandwiches. Simple to prepare and ready in just 5 minutes, it offers a zesty kick with the freshness of lime and cilantro, balanced by the creaminess of cottage cheese.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk cottage cheese
  • 3 tbsp coconut aminos (or soy sauce or tamari)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp lime juice
  • ½ cup cilantro
  • 3 jalapenos (remove the seeds from 1-2 jalapenos depending on spice level desired)
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place all of the ingredients—cottage cheese, coconut aminos, garlic, lime juice, cilantro, jalapenos, and salt—into a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the mixture on high until it becomes smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Adjust Seasonings: Taste the dip and adjust the seasoning by adding more salt, lime juice, or jalapenos if desired to suit your flavor preference.
  4. Chill to Thicken: Transfer the dip into a bowl or an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to allow it to thicken and the flavors to meld together.
  5. Serve: Serve the chilled dip with crackers, fresh vegetables, or tortilla chips as a flavorful and healthy snack or spread.

Notes

  • The level of spiciness can be controlled by removing seeds from one or two jalapenos.
  • Leftover dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
  • Use coconut aminos as a soy-free alternative to soy sauce or tamari.
  • This dip works well as a spread for wraps and sandwiches in addition to being a dip.
