Description

Crispy Honey-Glazed Shrimp features juicy shrimp coated in a seasoned flour mixture, fried until golden and crunchy, then drizzled with spicy-sweet hot honey. A quick, flavorful dish perfect for appetizers, snacks, or main meals.


Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, thawed, peeled, deveined, tail-on

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon kosher salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Vegetable oil, for frying

½ cup hot honey

Parsley, chopped, for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot to 350°F.
  4. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  5. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  6. Drain on a lined baking sheet, drizzle with hot honey, and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Swap hot honey with regular honey for a milder flavor.

Panko breadcrumbs can replace flour for extra crunch.

Reheat in an oven or air fryer at 375°F to maintain crispiness.

Bake instead of fry at 425°F for 12–15 minutes as a lighter option.

Best enjoyed immediately after frying for maximum crunch.
