Description

This homemade Crockpot Apple Cider is a cozy, spiced fall drink made with apples, orange, warm spices, and a touch of brown sugar. Slow-cooked to perfection, it fills your home with an inviting aroma and makes the perfect comforting beverage for chilly days or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

4 pounds apples, chopped (Ambrosia, Honeycrisp, or any eating apples)

1/2 cup brown sugar

4 cinnamon sticks

1 teaspoon ground allspice

1 teaspoon whole cloves

1 orange, chopped

2 quarts water

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients into a crockpot and set on low for 6 hours.
  2. Once the apples are soft, mash everything in the crockpot with a potato masher.
  3. Squeeze out as much juice as possible from the apples and orange.
  4. Scoop out chunks and pour the cider through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp.
  5. Serve warm immediately, or store in an airtight container for later use.

Notes

Adjust spices to taste — add more cinnamon, cloves, or even nutmeg.

Sweeten with extra brown sugar or maple syrup if desired.

Add pears or other fruits for a unique twist.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.

For an adult version, add a splash of rum or bourbon before serving.
