Description
A rich and flavorful brown sugar simple syrup made with just three ingredients—perfect for enhancing coffee, tea, or desserts with a smooth, caramel-like depth.
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer.
- Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally. For a quicker version, simmer for just 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
- Once cooled, pour into a mason jar or airtight container.
- Store in the refrigerator and use in coffee, tea, or other beverages.
Notes
The syrup thickens as it cools and even more in the fridge.
Use dark brown sugar for a deeper molasses flavor.
Can be used in both hot and cold drinks.
Shake or stir before each use if stored in the fridge.
