Description

A rich and flavorful brown sugar simple syrup made with just three ingredients—perfect for enhancing coffee, tea, or desserts with a smooth, caramel-like depth.

Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup water

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Stir well.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer.
  4. Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally. For a quicker version, simmer for just 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
  6. Once cooled, pour into a mason jar or airtight container.
  7. Store in the refrigerator and use in coffee, tea, or other beverages.

Notes

The syrup thickens as it cools and even more in the fridge.

Use dark brown sugar for a deeper molasses flavor.

Can be used in both hot and cold drinks.

Shake or stir before each use if stored in the fridge.
