Description
A spooky pizza topped with olives and cherry tomatoes arranged like creepy crawly spiders, perfect for parties and festive gatherings.
Ingredients
1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
8 slices black olives (sliced lengthwise for legs)
2 whole cherry tomatoes (halved for eyes)
1 bell pepper (thinly sliced for legs or decoration)
10 slices pepperoni (optional)
5 fresh basil leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place the oven rack in the middle position.
- Roll or stretch the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle, keeping the rim slightly thicker.
- Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella generously over the sauce.
- Arrange the black olive slices around the center to form spider legs.
- Stack halved olives at the center of the pizza for the spider’s body.
- Add cherry tomato slices or small olive halves for the spider’s eyes.
- Carefully transfer the pizza on parchment paper to a preheated baking stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- After baking, add fresh basil or optional pepperoni for extra flavor and decoration.
Notes
- Press the olive pieces gently into the cheese so they stay in place while baking.
- Use gluten-free dough if needed to accommodate dietary needs.
- Make mini versions for kids’ parties or individual servings.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven or skillet to keep the crust crispy—avoid microwaving.
