Description

Deliciously gooey Havarti and tart cranberry turkey sliders baked in soft Hawaiian rolls, layered with sliced turkey and a flavorful butter sauce for a perfect party appetizer or casual meal.

Ingredients

Sandwiches

  • 112 count package Hawaiian rolls (dinner rolls can be substituted)
  • 12 ounces sliced deli turkey or thinly sliced leftover turkey
  • 8 ounces sliced Havarti cheese
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce

Butter Sauce

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Slice Rolls: Carefully slice the slab of Hawaiian rolls horizontally into two pieces to create top and bottom buns.
  3. Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and arrange the bottom halves of the rolls evenly inside.
  4. Layer Cheese & Turkey: Spread half of the sliced Havarti cheese on the bottom buns, then layer all the sliced turkey evenly over the cheese.
  5. Add Cranberries: Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the turkey layer to add a tart flavor contrast.
  6. Top Layers: Cover the cranberry sauce with the remaining Havarti cheese slices and then place the top halves of the buns over everything.
  7. Make Butter Sauce: In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in poppy seeds, sesame seeds, Dijon mustard, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar until well combined.
  8. Brush Sauce: Using a pastry brush, generously brush the butter mixture over the tops and sides of the assembled sliders.
  9. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until the sliders are heated through and the cheese is fully melted.
  10. Crisp Tops: Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes to crisp up the tops of the buns to a golden finish.
  11. Cool & Serve: Let the sliders cool slightly before serving to allow flavors to set and for easier handling.

Notes

  • If you cannot find Hawaiian rolls, dinner rolls make a suitable substitute.
  • Use leftover turkey slices if you prefer a homemade touch.
  • Cranberry sauce adds a tart balance but can be swapped for any berry preserves if desired.
  • Ensure even spreading of butter sauce for optimum flavor and browning.
  • These sliders are best served warm for gooey cheese and soft rolls.
