Ingredients
5 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1/2 yellow onion, minced
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a large bowl or Ziplock bag, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, onion, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the marinated chicken to a baking pan, skin side up.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve hot with your favorite sides such as steamed rice or macaroni salad.

For a quicker option, marinate for at least 2–4 hours if short on time.
Use boneless, skinless chicken for faster cooking.
