Description
These baked Honey Oatmeal Bars are a deliciously crispy and chewy snack similar to Nature Valley granola bars, also known as Flapjacks in the UK. Made with wholesome ingredients like quick oats, coconut sugar, coconut oil, and honey, they are perfect for a nutritious homemade breakfast or snack on the go.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 4 ½ cups quick oats
- 1 cup coconut sugar
- ¼ tsp sea salt
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup coconut oil, melted
- ½ cup honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and to make cleanup easier.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the quick oats and coconut sugar. Add the melted coconut oil, honey, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Press Mixture: Transfer the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and press it firmly into a rectangle using the back of a flat spatula. Ensuring you press down hard will help keep the bars from crumbling after baking.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the mixture for 10 minutes until golden and set.
- Cool and Cut: Remove from the oven and allow the baked mixture to cool on the baking sheet for about 15 minutes. Once cooled, cut into 36 even squares to create individual bars.
- Store: Store the honey oatmeal bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, keeping them fresh and ready to enjoy.
