Description

A soothing and fragrant lavender milk tea made with Earl Grey black tea, almond milk, lavender buds, vanilla, and a touch of maple syrup. Ready in just 10 minutes, this comforting drink is perfect for relaxing moments and can be topped with cinnamon or frothed milk for extra indulgence.

Ingredients

Tea

  • 1 teabag black tea (Earl Grey recommended)

Milk Mixture

  • 2 cups (480 ml) almond milk or other dairy-free milk
  • 1.5 tablespoon lavender buds
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ tablespoon maple syrup

Optional Toppings

  • Cinnamon, for sprinkling
  • Lavender sprig, for garnish
  • Frothed milk

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Pour 1 cup (235 ml) of boiled or hot water into a mug and add the Earl Grey tea bag. Let it steep for around 5 minutes, then remove the tea bag and set the tea aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Lavender Milk Mixture: In a small saucepan, combine the almond milk, lavender buds, vanilla extract, and maple syrup. Warm the mixture over low heat slowly until steam begins to rise, being careful not to boil. Remove from heat and stir well to infuse flavors.
  3. Combine Tea and Milk Mixture: Pour the brewed tea into the warmed lavender milk mixture. Stir to integrate the tea and the milk blend evenly.
  4. Strain the Drink: Pour the combined mixture through a fine sieve into two mugs to remove lavender buds and any solids, ensuring a smooth consistency.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Serve warm, optionally topping with a small lavender sprig, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or some frothy milk created using a milk frother or blender for added texture and aroma.

Notes

  • You can substitute almond milk with any other dairy-free milk or regular milk if preferred.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup according to taste.
  • Be careful not to boil the milk mixture to preserve the delicate lavender flavor.
  • Optional cinnamon adds a warm aroma and complements the floral notes.
  • Frothing the milk adds a creamy, café-style touch to the drink.
