Description

These Moist Apple Muffins for Babies are a nutritious and delicious treat, perfect for introducing wholesome flavors to your little one. Made with ripe bananas, grated apple and carrot, whole wheat flour, and a touch of cinnamon, these muffins are soft, naturally sweet, and packed with fiber and vitamins. Ideal as a snack or breakfast option for babies starting on solids.

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 to 3 small bananas)
  • 1/2 cup grated apple (about 1 small apple)
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot (about 1 small carrot)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, grated apple, grated carrot, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth and well incorporated.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, old-fashioned oats, ground cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly distributed.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the muffins tender.
  5. Spoon Batter into Muffin Tin: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 22 to 26 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  7. Cool Muffins: Remove the muffins from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure to use ripe bananas for natural sweetness and moisture.

  • These muffins can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze muffins in a sealed bag for up to 2 months; thaw before serving.
  • Always check the temperature before serving to babies.
