Ingredients
-
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 11 ounces butterscotch chips, divided
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
- 3 cups Cocoa Pebbles cereal, divided
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup evaporated milk (plus ¼ cup for caramel layer)
- 7 ounces marshmallow creme
- ¼ cup creamy peanut butter (for nougat layer)
- 1 ½ cups roasted lightly salted peanuts, coarsely chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 11 ounces KRAFT caramels or caramel bits
Instructions
- Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray and line with parchment paper. Set aside.
- For the bottom layer: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine half of the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in half of the Cocoa Pebbles. Spread evenly into the prepared dish. Set aside to cool slightly.
- For the nougat layer: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sugar, stirring until dissolved. Add evaporated milk and bring to a simmer. Stir in marshmallow creme and peanut butter until smooth. Remove from heat and mix in peanuts and vanilla extract. Spread evenly over the bottom layer. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- For the caramel layer: In a small saucepan, melt caramels with evaporated milk over low heat until smooth. Spread evenly over the nougat layer.
- For the top layer: Repeat the first step with the remaining chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter, and Cocoa Pebbles. Spread evenly over the caramel layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until set. Cut into 24 squares and serve.
Notes
- Substitute Cocoa Pebbles with Rice Krispies or other crispy rice cereal for a different texture.
- Use milk chocolate or white chocolate chips for variation.
- Make it nut-free by omitting peanuts and adding more cereal for crunch.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Bars can be frozen for longer storage. Thaw before serving.
