Description

This Oven Roasted Cauliflower recipe is a simple and delicious way to enjoy cauliflower with a crispy, golden exterior and tender inside. Tossed in olive oil, melted butter, and a blend of savory spices, it makes a perfect side dish that pairs well with a variety of main courses.

Ingredients

Cauliflower

  • 1 medium cauliflower (sliced into small florets, or 1/2″ thick steaks)

Seasonings and Oils

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ tsp ground paprika
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare the Cauliflower: Slice the head of cauliflower into 1/2 inch thick steaks or break up the wedges into even, bite-sized florets to ensure even cooking.
  3. Toss with Oil and Butter: Place the cauliflower pieces onto the center of the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle evenly with olive oil and melted butter, then toss gently to coat all pieces thoroughly.
  4. Season the Cauliflower: In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, salt, ground paprika, and ground black pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning mixture over the cauliflower and toss again so that the cauliflower is evenly coated with the spices.
  5. Bake to Crisp: Arrange the cauliflower in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cauliflower is tender and has reached your desired level of crispiness, flipping halfway through if desired for even roasting.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, flip the cauliflower pieces halfway through baking.
  • You can substitute unsalted butter with all butter if preferred.
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice after roasting for a bright flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
