These sliders come together quickly, making them a perfect crowd-pleasing meal for family or gatherings.
Ingredients
Spaghetti and Sauce
- 8 oz. Italia Spaghetti, broken into thirds
- 24 oz. jar Roasted Garlic Pasta Sauce
- 1/3 cup Basil Pesto
Bread and Cheese
- 2 packages Savory Garlic Knots (about 12 knots used)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Topping
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat and cook pasta: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Boil the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the noodles thoroughly and set them aside.
- Prepare garlic knot base: Cut each savory garlic knot in half horizontally, like a sandwich. Place the bottom halves evenly in a 9×13 inch casserole dish (using about 12 garlic knots). Spread the basil pesto evenly over the bottom half of each garlic knot.
- Layer pasta and cheese: Spread the cooked spaghetti noodles over the pesto-coated garlic knots. Pour the roasted garlic pasta sauce over the noodles, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheeses evenly on top.
- Add top garlic knot layer and bake: Place the top halves of the garlic knots evenly over the cheese layer. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the garlic knots are golden brown and the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
- Prepare garlic butter and finish: While the sliders bake, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and freshly chopped parsley in a small bowl. When the sliders come out of the oven, brush the garlic butter mixture over the tops of the garlic knots. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
Notes
- You can save extra garlic knots for another use or recipe.
- Make sure to brush the garlic butter immediately after baking to enhance flavor and shine.
- Use freshly chopped parsley for best flavor and appearance.
- Check the pasta doneness as cooking times vary by brand.
- For a spicier variation, add red pepper flakes to the sauce or topping mixture.
