Description
A crispy, golden twist on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Toasted to perfection with a warm, gooey filling of creamy peanut butter and sweet fruit preserves, this quick and easy recipe is versatile and satisfying.
Ingredients
2 slices bread
2 teaspoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon fruit preserves
Instructions
- Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Flip the slices over and spread peanut butter on the unbuttered side.
- Spread fruit preserves on one slice, then top with the other slice, buttered-side-up.
- Place the sandwich directly on the toaster oven rack.
- Set to the TOAST setting on MEDIUM and cook for 2½ to 3 minutes, or until golden. Add more time if needed.
- Remove carefully with tongs or a spatula. Let cool slightly, slice in half, and enjoy!
Notes
- Try swapping fruit preserves with fresh fruit like bananas or berries.
- Use almond or cashew butter instead of peanut butter for variety.
- Whole wheat, sourdough, or gluten-free bread work well too.
- For reheating, use a toaster oven or air fryer to keep the bread crispy.
