Description
This easy and quick 2 Ingredient Dough Naan Bread recipe combines self-rising flour and Greek yogurt to create soft, fluffy naan bread without the need for yeast or long rising times. Perfect for a fast homemade flatbread that’s versatile and delicious, cooked on the stovetop in just a few minutes.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups self-rising flour (use gluten-free if needed)
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (vegan Greek yogurt, non-fat, full-fat, or reduced fat)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter of choice (optional, for brushing)
Instructions
- Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, salt, and Greek yogurt. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined, then knead with your hands to form a smooth, large ball of dough.
- Shape the Naan: Lightly flour a wooden or kitchen surface. Sprinkle a little extra flour on top of the ball of dough. Transfer the dough to the floured surface, flatten it into a circular shape, then divide it into 8 even portions. Flatten each portion into a rectangular flatbread shape, resembling classic naan bread.
- Cook on Stovetop: Heat a non-stick saucepan over medium heat until hot. Place one flattened dough piece into the pan and cook for about 3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for an additional 2 minutes. Repeat this process for all 8 naan pieces.
- Optional Butter Brush: Once each naan bread is cooked and warm, lightly brush the tops with melted butter if desired for extra flavor and softness.
