Description

This Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Crusted Salmon recipe features succulent salmon fillets topped with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, garlic, and Parmesan, cooked to perfection in an air fryer for a tender, juicy, and flavorful main dish. Ready in just 13 minutes, it’s a quick and delicious way to enjoy a wholesome American classic.

Ingredients

Salmon and Toppings

  • 2-4 ounces Salmon Fillets
  • 3 tablespoons Cream Cheese
  • 3 tablespoons Grated or Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • Juice of Half a Lemon
  • Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Lightly rub the salmon fillets with olive oil to ensure they remain moist during cooking and to help the crust adhere better.
  2. Make the Garlic Parmesan Mixture: In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice. Mix until well blended to create a creamy, flavorful topping.
  3. Top the Salmon: Spoon the cream cheese mixture evenly onto the top of each salmon fillet, then generously sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Create an aluminum foil sling shaped to fit inside the air fryer basket as a removable platform. Press it firmly to the bottom and up the sides of the basket. Lightly spray the foil and the basket with a non-aerosol oil spray to prevent sticking.
  5. Cook the Salmon: Carefully place the prepared salmon fillets on the foil sling inside the basket. Set the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, until the salmon is tender and the Parmesan crust is golden and crisp.
  6. Remove and Serve: Once done, use the foil sling to lift the salmon out of the basket to avoid breaking the fillets. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of garlic and Parmesan to suit your taste preference.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor impact.
  • Creating the foil sling makes removing delicate salmon fillets easier and helps prevent sticking in the air fryer basket.
  • If you do not have a non-aerosol oil sprayer, carefully brush oil on the foil and basket instead.
  • Cooking times can vary slightly depending on the thickness of the salmon fillets, so check for doneness accordingly.
  • This recipe pairs well with steamed vegetables or a fresh green salad for a balanced meal.
