Description

This Apple Pie Cream Cheese recipe combines the sweet, spiced goodness of baked apples with smooth, creamy cream cheese to create a delicious spread. Perfect for bagels, toast, or even as a dip, this easy-to-make treat captures the comforting flavors of apple pie with a creamy twist. The apples are gently baked with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, then blended and folded into cream cheese for a delightful fall-inspired snack or breakfast addition.

Ingredients

Apple Mixture

  • 2 whole apples, peeled and small diced (Fuji or preferred variety)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 small pinch grated nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 small pinch ground ginger (optional)
  • 1 small pinch salt

Cream Cheese Spread

  • 2 – 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  • Bagels for spreading (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Bake Apples: Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a baking dish, add the chopped apples along with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Toss everything together so the apples are evenly coated with the spices and sugar. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until the apples become tender.
  2. Cool and Blend Apples: Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the apples cool for about 15 minutes. Transfer the cooled apples to a food processor and pulse for about 20 seconds, scraping down the sides as needed to form a slightly chunky but blended apple mixture.
  3. Combine with Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, add the softened cream cheese and the blended apple mixture. Using an electric mixer, blend the cream cheese and apples together until well combined and smooth. Serve the apple pie cream cheese spread on toasted bagels, bread, or enjoy it straight from the bowl!

Notes

  • You can use any apple variety you prefer, but Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp work especially well for sweetness and texture.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar and spices according to your taste preference.
  • This spread keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Try serving this spread on toast, pancakes, or even as a sweet dip for fresh fruit.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, you can finely mash the apples after baking for a chunkier texture.
