Description

Bang Bang Salmon Bites are a quick and flavorful seafood dish featuring tender, air-fried salmon cubes coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. Perfectly seasoned and served with rice and fresh vegetables, this recipe delivers a deliciously balanced meal in just minutes.

Ingredients

Salmon and Marinade

  • 1 pound center cut salmon (skin removed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ⅓ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons Thai-style sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (plus additional to taste)

To Serve

  • White or brown rice
  • Edamame
  • Diced avocado
  • Thinly sliced cucumber
  • Thinly sliced green onion
  • Chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Season the Salmon: Cut the skinless center cut salmon into 1-inch cubes and place them in a medium bowl. Add olive oil, honey, low sodium soy sauce, paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and ground black pepper. Toss thoroughly to evenly coat each salmon bite with the seasoning mix.
  2. Air Fry the Salmon: Arrange the salmon cubes in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not touch or overlap to ensure even cooking. You may need to cook in two batches. Air fry at 400°F for 5 to 7 minutes until the salmon is cooked through, flakes easily with a fork, and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. Flipping is not necessary.
  3. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together nonfat plain Greek yogurt, Thai-style sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha. Adjust the amount of Sriracha to your desired spice level for the perfect balance of creamy and spicy flavors.
  4. Serve: Plate the cooked salmon bites alongside cooked white or brown rice and steamed edamame. Garnish with diced avocado, thinly sliced cucumber, green onions, and chopped fresh cilantro. Drizzle generously with the Bang Bang sauce before devouring.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary to avoid steaming instead of air frying.
  • Check the salmon’s internal temperature with a thermometer to ensure it’s fully cooked at 145°F.
  • Adjust the Sriracha in the Bang Bang sauce to control the heat level.
  • Use fresh herbs and vegetables for the best flavor contrast.
  • This recipe can be doubled easily for more servings.
