Description
Buckeye Dip is a creamy, sweet, and indulgent no-bake dessert dip inspired by the classic buckeye candy flavor combination of rich peanut butter and chocolate. This easy-to-make dip combines softened cream cheese, butter, peanut butter, and sugar, folded with semi-sweet chocolate chips, perfect for serving with graham crackers, apple slices, or teddy grahams at parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Base Ingredients
- 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
Sweeteners & Flavorings
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated in microwave for 30 seconds)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
Mix-ins
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Combine Cream Cheese, Butter, and Peanut Butter: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, unsalted butter, and creamy peanut butter together with an electric hand mixer until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add Sugar, Flour, and Vanilla: Blend in the powdered sugar, brown sugar, heat-treated all-purpose flour, and vanilla bean paste until fully incorporated and the dip has a uniform texture.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Using a wooden spoon, gently fold in the semi-sweet mini chocolate chips to evenly distribute them without breaking.
- Chill the Dip: Transfer the dip to a serving container and refrigerate until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.
- Serve: Serve the Buckeye Dip chilled with a variety of dippers such as teddy grahams, graham crackers, and apple slices for a delicious and crowd-pleasing treat.
Notes
- The all-purpose flour is heat-treated in the microwave to eliminate any risk of consuming raw flour.
- Soften the cream cheese and butter to room temperature to help with smooth mixing.
- For a different texture, you can substitute crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Adjust sweetness by reducing or increasing powdered sugar according to taste.
