Description

This Cajun Air Fryer Salmon recipe offers a quick and flavorful way to enjoy tender salmon with perfectly roasted vegetables. Featuring a zesty Cajun seasoning and cooked entirely in the air fryer, this dish is a healthy and convenient option for a wholesome meal ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • ½ yellow onion, cut into large chunks
  • 1 large zucchini, sliced into half moons

Protein

  • 10 ounces skinless salmon filet, cut into large even cubes

Seasoning & Oil

  • 1 ½ teaspoons avocado oil, divided
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F and allow it to preheat to ensure even cooking.
  2. Prepare the vegetables: In a bowl, toss the yellow onion chunks and zucchini half moons with half of the avocado oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Make sure all pieces are evenly coated with seasoning and oil.
  3. Cook the vegetables: Transfer the seasoned veggies to the air fryer basket, spreading them out in an even layer. Air fry for 6 to 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even roasting.
  4. Remove vegetables: Take the cooked vegetables out and set them aside for plating later.
  5. Season the salmon: In the same bowl used previously, toss the salmon cubes with the remaining half of the avocado oil and the Cajun seasoning until fully coated.
  6. Cook the salmon: Place the seasoned salmon into the air fryer basket and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Divide the cooked salmon and roasted vegetables between two plates and enjoy your flavorful, healthy meal.

Notes

  • You can adjust the Cajun seasoning amount to suit your spice preference.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation and even cooking.
  • If your salmon pieces are larger, increase cooking time by 1 to 2 minutes and check for doneness.
  • Use fresh vegetables for the best texture and flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
