Ingredients
Sauce
- 4 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 Tbsp butter (for sauce and sautéing)
Main Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp butter (divided; 2 Tbsp for sauce, 1 Tbsp for cooking beef and broccoli)
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 lb. frozen broccoli florets
- 8 oz. spaghetti
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 2 pinches crushed red pepper flakes (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl for about 20 seconds. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and toasted sesame oil. Stir thoroughly until combined and set aside.
- Cook the Spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until tender, approximately 7 minutes. Drain the noodles in a colander and set aside.
- Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat from the skillet if needed.
- Sauté Garlic: While the beef cooks, mince the garlic cloves. Add minced garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Add Broccoli: Add the frozen broccoli florets to the skillet. Sauté over medium heat until the broccoli is no longer frozen but not fully cooked, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked spaghetti and prepared sauce to the skillet. Toss and stir until all ingredients are evenly coated and heated through, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat. Sprinkle sliced green onions and crushed red pepper flakes over the noodles. Serve immediately for best flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute spaghetti with other noodles like linguine or egg noodles.
- For extra veggies, add sliced bell peppers or shredded carrots with the broccoli.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, increase the crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce and oyster sauce to reduce sodium content.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated up to 2 days; reheat gently in a skillet to maintain texture.
