Description

This Homemade Lemon Lime Electrolyte Drink is a refreshing and natural hydration beverage packed with essential electrolytes from coconut water, citrus juices, and a pinch of salt. Sweetened with honey or maple syrup, it’s perfect for replenishing fluids and minerals lost during exercise or hot days.

Ingredients

Electrolyte Drink Ingredients

  • 24 ounces coconut water (3 cups)
  • 2 ounces lemon juice (¼ cup)
  • 2 ounces lime juice (¼ cup)
  • 2 ounces orange juice (¼ cup)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup, or more to taste)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a pitcher, large measuring cup, or large jar, add the coconut water, lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, honey or maple syrup, and a pinch of salt. Do not add ice yet.
  2. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture well until the honey or maple syrup is fully dissolved, ensuring the drink is evenly sweetened and the salt is incorporated.
  3. Chill and Serve: Place the pitcher or jar in the refrigerator to chill the electrolyte drink before serving. Alternatively, pour the mixture over ice cubes to enjoy immediately cold.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey or maple syrup according to your taste preference.
  • Use fresh-squeezed citrus juices for the best flavor.
  • Coconut water naturally contains electrolytes such as potassium which aid hydration.
  • Store leftover drink in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for freshness.
  • This drink can be used as a natural alternative to commercial sports drinks.
