Description

Lemon Puppy Chow is a delightful twist on the classic snack mix, featuring crispy Chex cereal coated in a smooth, tangy white chocolate lemon mixture and dusted with powdered sugar and fresh lemon zest. This easy, no-bake treat is perfect for sharing at parties or enjoying as a sweet, citrusy snack.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 5 cups Chex cereal
  • 8 oz white chocolate almond bark
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon emulsion
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 lemon (zested)

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate almond bark and unsalted butter. Heat at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. Stir in the lemon emulsion to evenly distribute the lemon flavor.
  2. Coat Chex Cereal: Pour the white chocolate lemon mixture over the Chex cereal in a large bowl. Gently fold and mix until every piece of cereal is evenly coated with the chocolate mixture.
  3. Add Powdered Sugar and Lemon Zest: Place the powdered sugar and freshly grated lemon zest into a large zip-top plastic bag. Add the coated cereal mixture into the bag, seal it tightly, and shake well to completely coat the cereal pieces with the powder and zest.
  4. Set and Serve: Spread the coated cereal mix evenly onto a baking sheet to allow it to set and dry for 30 minutes. Once set, transfer to an airtight container for storing or serve immediately as a sweet, tangy snack.

Notes

  • Use white chocolate almond bark for smooth melting and easy coating.
  • Lemon emulsion provides a stronger lemon flavor compared to fresh lemon juice.
  • Ensure the cereal is completely coated for the best flavor experience.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness for up to one week.
  • Can be customized by adding lemon zest into the coating mixture or mixing in additional snacks like pretzels.
