Ingredients
Sauce
- 2 Tbsp natural-style peanut butter
- 1 Tbsp chili garlic sauce
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
Noodles
- 1 3oz. packet instant ramen noodles (seasoning discarded)
- 1 green onion, sliced
Instructions
- Make the peanut sauce: In a bowl, combine the peanut butter, chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar until it forms a smooth paste.
- Prepare the sauce consistency: Bring a small pot of water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, carefully remove ¼ cup of the boiling water and stir it into the peanut-chili paste until it forms a smooth, pourable sauce.
- Cook the ramen noodles: Add the ramen noodles (without the seasoning packet) to the boiling water and boil for 2-3 minutes until the noodles are tender but still slightly chewy.
- Combine noodles and sauce: Drain the noodles and return them to the pot with the heat turned off. Pour the prepared peanut sauce over the noodles and stir well to combine.
- Serve and garnish: Top the noodles with the sliced green onions and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can adjust the spiciness by varying the amount of chili garlic sauce according to your preference.
- Use natural-style peanut butter for a creamier texture and better flavor.
- If you prefer a thinner sauce, add more hot water to reach your desired consistency.
- For a vegetarian version, ensure your soy sauce is vegetarian-friendly.
- This dish is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one day.
