Description

This Viral Caramelized Banana Iced Latte is a delicious and creamy coffee treat that combines the natural sweetness of caramelized bananas with cold brew coffee for a unique, refreshing beverage. Made with simple ingredients and a quick stovetop caramelization process, it’s perfect for a cozy yet energizing drink any time of day.

Ingredients

For the Caramelized Bananas

  • 1 Teaspoon Butter
  • 1 Banana, sliced
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Sugar

For the Latte

  • 1 Cup Milk of Choice (almond milk used, can substitute with any milk)
  • 8 Ounces Cold Brew Coffee (or 2 shots espresso)
  • 1 Handful Ice Cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bananas: Heat a saucepan over medium heat and add 1 teaspoon of butter, allowing it to melt gently.
  2. Add Bananas to Pan: While the butter melts, slice the banana and add it to the pan along with 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  3. Caramelize the Bananas: Cook the banana mixture in the pan for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bananas are soft and caramelized.
  4. Cool the Bananas: Remove the pan from heat and let the caramelized bananas cool slightly.
  5. Prepare the Milk: Combine the cooled caramelized bananas and 1 cup of your chosen milk in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  6. Strain the Milk: Pour the blended mixture through a strainer to remove any chunks for a silky texture.
  7. Prepare the Latte: Fill a tall glass with a handful of ice cubes and pour in 8 ounces of cold brew coffee or two shots of espresso.
  8. Pour, Serve, and Enjoy: Top the coffee with the banana milk mixture, stir gently if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute any type of milk (dairy or plant-based) depending on preference or dietary needs.
  • Cold brew coffee or espresso shots can be used interchangeably based on your caffeine preference.
  • Straining the banana milk ensures a smooth texture, but you can leave it unstrained for a thicker, rustic drink.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less coconut sugar according to taste.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based butter or coconut oil instead of butter.
