Ingredients
For the Caramelized Bananas
- 1 Teaspoon Butter
- 1 Banana, sliced
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon Coconut Sugar
For the Latte
- 1 Cup Milk of Choice (almond milk used, can substitute with any milk)
- 8 Ounces Cold Brew Coffee (or 2 shots espresso)
- 1 Handful Ice Cubes
Instructions
- Prepare the Bananas: Heat a saucepan over medium heat and add 1 teaspoon of butter, allowing it to melt gently.
- Add Bananas to Pan: While the butter melts, slice the banana and add it to the pan along with 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Caramelize the Bananas: Cook the banana mixture in the pan for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bananas are soft and caramelized.
- Cool the Bananas: Remove the pan from heat and let the caramelized bananas cool slightly.
- Prepare the Milk: Combine the cooled caramelized bananas and 1 cup of your chosen milk in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Strain the Milk: Pour the blended mixture through a strainer to remove any chunks for a silky texture.
- Prepare the Latte: Fill a tall glass with a handful of ice cubes and pour in 8 ounces of cold brew coffee or two shots of espresso.
- Pour, Serve, and Enjoy: Top the coffee with the banana milk mixture, stir gently if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute any type of milk (dairy or plant-based) depending on preference or dietary needs.
- Cold brew coffee or espresso shots can be used interchangeably based on your caffeine preference.
- Straining the banana milk ensures a smooth texture, but you can leave it unstrained for a thicker, rustic drink.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less coconut sugar according to taste.
- For a vegan version, use plant-based butter or coconut oil instead of butter.
