Ingredients
Dip Ingredients
- 2 Cups Dill Pickles, chopped
- 2 Cups Sour Cream
- 1 Packet Ranch Seasoning (about 1 ounce)
- Fresh Dill, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Topping
- 3/4 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
Instructions
- Melt Butter: Heat a pan over medium heat on the stove and add the butter. Allow it to melt completely, preparing to toast the breadcrumbs.
- Toast Breadcrumbs: Add the panko breadcrumbs to the melted butter and toast them, stirring frequently, until they become fragrant and golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare Dip Ingredients: Chop the dill pickles into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl. Add the majority of the toasted breadcrumbs (reserve some for topping), sour cream, and ranch seasoning packet.
- Mix Ingredients: Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. The mixture will be thick; if you prefer a thinner consistency, add a small amount of water or pickle juice and stir until desired consistency is reached.
- Transfer and Garnish: Spoon the dip onto a serving plate. Sprinkle the reserved toasted breadcrumbs on top along with fresh chopped dill, if using.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the dip with your choice of chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables and enjoy this delicious pickle-flavored appetizer.
Notes
- Pickle juice can be used to thin the dip for extra tanginess.
- For a spicier twist, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the dip.
- Use fresh dill for the best flavor, but dried dill can be substituted in a pinch.
- To keep the breadcrumbs extra crispy, toast them just before serving.
- This dip is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days; stir well before serving.
